Erangal Beach, Madh Island

Spent a lazy Saturday evening at Erangal beach, Madh Island. The smell of the drying bombil saturated our noses but the things happening around more than made up for it. Had some fun shooting images on my iPhone. Mobile photography is really fun.

Madh Island….like the one you go from Malad? Like the one near Mumbai. Can't believe such beautiful shots and nice beach in Amchi Mumbai. Lovely is the word.

Thanks Shweta! But I must admit the beach was really dirty… We just managed to find a clean pocket. Sad that we in India can't keep our public spaces clean!

The pictures are beautiful. A lovely glimpse into the everyday life of those who live and work by the sea. And reading the reply you've made here, I suppose finding a clean spot is step#1 of any beach outing in Mumbai (or popular beaches anywhere in India). :-/

It'd really was quite filthy! I wouldn't want anyone to go there expecting a half decent beach… We found a small patch that did not have litter and the kids had a blast playing there. Surprisingly while we adults cribbed non stop about the stench of rotting fish and smell of drying fish, the kids seemed us fazed by it.

Bombay Duck :) you are right – I've been to beaches like Madh Island and Gorai and they have all been uniformly dirty. Sad state of affairs. Have you been Kashid / Murud Janjira? They are very pretty beaches.

Atmospheric images. Sounds like a lovely evening, despite the overpowering odours :-)

I have been to Murud Janjira and driven past Kashid several years back, and yes those definitely are better beaches!
