Skywatch Friday – Todra Gorge, Morocco

As we made our way towards the magnificent Sahara Dessert from Ouarzazate, we spent a night at the gorgeous Todra Gorge. The gigantic rock wall is a spectacle to witness. As the sun rose the next morning we saw the rock take on a pink hue, and as the sun rose higher still – the color changed from pink to gold. The play of light and the brilliant shadows created are an experience I’ll cherish witnessing.
There’s a gurgling stream that runs through the gorge besides the road. Many trekkers and hikers scale the gorge. We chose to spend the night at one of the few hotels right in the midst of the gorge, and explore the beautiful berber villages in the vicinity.
To view other beautiful skies from the world over visit Skywatch Friday.
